IEC 61097-6 pdf download Global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS) – Part 6: Narrowband direct-printing telegraph equipment for the reception of navigational and meteorological warnings and urgent information to ships (NAVTEX)
This part of lEC 61097 specifies the minimum performance requirements, technical character-istics and type-testing requirements for narrowband telegraph equipment for the reception ofnavigational and meteorological information as required by Regulation IV/7.1.4 of the 1988amendments to the 1974 International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea(SOLAS), and whichis associated with lEC 60945.When a requirement in this standard is different from IEC 60945,the requirement in this standard takes precedence.
This standard incorporates the performance standards of lMO Resolution MSC.148(77), thetechnical characteristics of lTU-R Recommendation M.540, takes account of the MO ResolutionA.694(17) and conforms with the ITU Radio Regulations where applicable.
All text of this standard, whose meaning is identical to that in lMO Resolution MSC.148(77) andITU-R Recommendation M.540 will be printed in italics and the Resolution/Recommendationand paragraph number indicated between brackets.
